What We Have Been Up To

This past month has been crazy busy! Tonight is Brian's last night of working the night shift, so me and the kids (and Brian) and so excited! I'm ready to get back into our regular routine. It hasn't been too bad, but it is always a struggle to try and keep the kids somewhat quiet during the day while Brian is sleeping.

We have had a lot of exciting (good and bad) experiences this past month. Gavin had his first emergency room visit about a month ago. He accidently got his fingers caught in the bathroom door, and we thought they might be broken, so we made a visit to the ER. After trying to get the "perfect" x-ray (which took forever), we found out that everthing was fine...of course :) Another big thing, Gavin turned 2!!! Can't believe my sweet boy is already 2! He is getting so big. Last night he slept in his big boy bed for the first time! He did so good, and stayed in his bed the entire night. He is in his bed again tonight, and so far so good :)

Don't worry...We are still alive!

I know it has been almost an entire month since I have updated the blog, but we have been super busy around here lately! I promise to update very soon. A lot has been going on, and Brian is working the night shift this month for the outage. By the way, Gavin is turning 2 this Sunday! Can you believe it?

Fun In The Snow

We finally got snow down here in the south! The kids loved it!

A Little Rest and Relaxation

Last weekend I was able to go on a women's retreat with my church, thanks to my wonderful husband and parents! It was so nice to get away for a weekend by myself and have some much needed rest and relaxation. We went to Epworth By The Sea on St. Simons Island. It was absolutely beautiful! I was definitely ready to come home by the end of the retreat to see my sweet babies (and of course Brian), but it was nice to spend some time with the ladies from church, especially my good friend Hadley.
It was the first time Brian had had Landon for more than a couple hours by himself, but he did awesome! Maddie went and stayed with my parents for the weekend, and Evan, my brother, came over to our house to help Brian out with the boys. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family!

Better Late Than Never

I know it is sad that I'm just now getting around to posting pictures from our Christmas, but at least I can say that I am honestly busy almost all the time! We had a great Christmas with our family in McDonough, GA. It always seems to go by so fast, but then I am always ready to get back home and back into our regular routine. Thankfully traveling with the kiddos is a lot better this year compared to last year. Gavin is finally getting out of his "difficult" stage that he was in since the minute he took his first breath, so life is getting easier :) Landon is so easy going, and Maddie is, well, Maddie, so our 3 hour trip there and back was pretty peaceful and quiet. We have been so blessed to have family that is so generous and hospitable, and that allow our loud family to come and bombard their home :)

Faithful Friends

A couple of weeks ago we were able to spend time with some good friends of ours, the Davis family. We had an awesome time! It is so funny how even though we hadn't seen each other in at least six months, we were able to just start back up where we left off. I guess that's what happens when you have so much in common. They also have three kids three and under, except they are even closer in age than ours :) We love you guys!

My Parent's Chicken Coop

This past year my parents decided that they wanted to try their hand at raising chickens for the eggs. Well, after deciding which coop plan to go with, my dad set to work building it by hand. It looks awesome, though most people would mistake it for a playhouse if they didn't see the enclosed pen beside it :) The best thing is, we are able to have as many fresh "organic" eggs as we can eat!

Florida Gators Football!

A couple of weeks ago Brian and I were able to go to the Florida / South Carolina football game, and it was so much fun! My parents were able to babysit for us, and Brian's sister let us use a couple of her tickets for the game. I love the atmosphere of a college football game and all the excitement, especially when your team wins! Go Gators!

Thanksgiving

I can't believe Thanksgiving has already come and gone. Every year seems to pass by faster and faster. We were able to spend Thanksgiving Day with both my family and Brians. We went to my parents house in Appling for lunch, and then to Brian's grandmother's house for a late lunch. Needless to say, we all ate way too much...but don't we always do :) And now we get to enjoy leftovers for the next week.

As some of you know, our computer has been on it's last leg for a couple months now. We were trying to get it to last until Thanksgiving so that we could try to find a good deal on a laptop. Thankfully it has not died on us, and Brian was up at our local Walmart at 3:15 in the morning the day after Thanksgiving!!! Even though he was there that early, he was already the 17th person in line. Crazy. They ended up not having enough computers, but Brian was able to work out a deal with the store manager. I was just glad that Brian was willing to go and wait in line with all the crazy people while the kids and I slept in at home :)

By the way, Landon slept for 11 1/2 hours last night!!! I put him to bed around 9:00 and he didn't wake up until 8:30 this morning. Hopefully he will keep up this new schedule. I guess we will see tonight.

It's Been A While

I have really been slacking with this blog lately. Things have been so busy around here. We are finally getting into a good routine with Landon's schedule, so hopefully I will be blogging more soon. I can't believe Thanksgiving is in just a few days! Each year seems to go by faster and faster...and that means I'm getting older and older! My sister is here with us this week, which has been awesome! She is such a big help with the kids, and it is nice to get some girl time in too. My Mimi and cousin are coming today to stay until Thanksgiving to help out too! The Lord has blessed us with awesome family!

Happy Halloween!

Brian and I decided to take the kids to our church's Trunk or Treat this year. Maddie was super excited...mostly about getting some candy and Gavin didn't even know what was going on :) It ended up being 80 degrees outside, so Maddie didn't get to wear her cute butterfly costume, but don't worry, you will get to see it on her next year. Maddie was a princess ballerina, Gavin was superman "Tebow", and Landon was a pumpkin. They looked so cute and had an awesome time.

Time for an Update

Wow, I can't believe it has been over a week since I last updated this blog! The days are going by so fast, especially with the holidays coming up. Can't wait to start decorating and playing Christmas music next month! This is definitely my favorite time of year for so many reasons.

This past week has been pretty busy around here. Brian has been going hunting a good bit with his new bow, but has missed two deer so far. Hopefully he will get one soon since our stash is running low in the freezer. I was able to go out this past Thursday to a fellowship dinner at church that they host once a month for the ladies, thanks to Brian babysitting the three kiddos for me. It was very refreshing to get to hang out with other women by myself for awhile. I will definitely be making a habit of going every month! This past Saturday, my parents were able to come and visit us for the day. They hadn't seen the kids since Maddie's birthday party a month ago. We are so blessed that they only live an hour away, and can come see us often. Speaking of family, we also had Brian's grandmother and cousin, Joey, over for dinner on Wednesday as a farewell to him since he has joined the Navy and will be leaving soon for training. What an awesome guy!

Well, I know all that info was pretty random, but I just wanted to update on what's been going on with us. Hopefully it won't be another full week before I write again. I guess we'll see what each day brings.
