Learning Our Letters

We can't believe it, but Maddie (who isn't even 3 1/2 yet) has learned all of her letters and sounds! I wish that I could take all the credit, but I can't :) They got the Leapfrog Letter Factory from their Uncle Lance and Aunt Stephanie this past Christmas and they love it! I know some of you might think I'm a horrible mom, but they beg to watch it at least twice a day...and I let them :) At least it is educational! I guess because it is so repetative, she has picked up on the letters and sounds fast. I would definitely recommend the dvd to anyone with young kids.

Short and Simple...But So Funny!

I met my mom in Augusta today so we could hang out while we ran some errands together. We usually meet up at least once a month and she helps me with the kids while we get some shopping done. I had to run by Target to get some things for a baby shower next weekend, and of course as soon as we walk in, I'm drawn to the dollar section :) I can't help it! And I know that is the reason why they put it right up front. You can't walk by it without looking at all the cute stuff/junk. Don't get me wrong, they have some really awesome things, like the double pack of C batteries that I use for the swing for $1! Anyways, to get to the funny stuff. I gave in and let Maddie and Gavin pick out two things to buy. Gavin picked out a foam axe and football, and Maddie picked out a diary and princess ring pops. I explained that the diary was for writing secret things in. Well, as soon as my mom walked in to Target a couple minutes after us, Maddie yells out, "Look Gigi, I'm getting a diarrhea!" The things they say!

Let's Try This Again...And Again...

So most of you that know me well, know that I absolutely LOVE food! I really try to eat healthy, drink lots of water and workout, but sometimes I fail miserably. I usually start a workout routine and keep it up for a couple weeks, but then I take a break for a day, and...well you know what happens. I start making excuses of being too busy or needing to do other things.

I have made a couple of goals for this year, that hopefully I can really keep. The first is to drink only water throughout the day except for a glass of orange juice or milk in the morning at breakfast and tea or koolaid at night with my meal only. I know most people would laugh at this goal, but it really is a struggle for me to grab the pitcher of water instead of the tea or juice. The second goal is to workout at least 4 times a week for at least 20 minutes. I really do enjoy working out and the energized feeling I have after doing so, but I guess it is just getting the motivation to get up and do it! The past couple of weeks I have been going through the Jillian Michaels workout routines...wow, I am so out of shape! My last goal is the most important and the one that I long to see through. I want to wake up early each morning and begin my day with the Lord, everyday, not just when it "works" out. I know the only way my relationship with the Lord will continue to grow is for me to be in scripture and prayer daily. And this is what I desire. How can I be a godly example and teacher to my children if I am not daily in His word?

Better Late Than Never

I know it is sad that I'm just now getting around to posting pictures from our Christmas, but at least I can say that I am honestly busy almost all the time! We had a great Christmas with our family in McDonough, GA. It always seems to go by so fast, but then I am always ready to get back home and back into our regular routine. Thankfully traveling with the kiddos is a lot better this year compared to last year. Gavin is finally getting out of his "difficult" stage that he was in since the minute he took his first breath, so life is getting easier :) Landon is so easy going, and Maddie is, well, Maddie, so our 3 hour trip there and back was pretty peaceful and quiet. We have been so blessed to have family that is so generous and hospitable, and that allow our loud family to come and bombard their home :)

Four Month Check-Up

Can you believe Landon is almost 4 months old? Next week to be exact. He is growing up so fast. He hasn't rolled over yet, but is already sitting up in his Bumbo and playing in his excersaucer by himself, and holding his head up good. I took him to his 4 month check-up this morning and he is already 15 pounds 7 ounces and is 24 inches long! Landon is still the most content baby and is sleeping through the night for at least 12 hours! The Lord has blessed us with three wonderful blessings!

Faithful Friends

A couple of weeks ago we were able to spend time with some good friends of ours, the Davis family. We had an awesome time! It is so funny how even though we hadn't seen each other in at least six months, we were able to just start back up where we left off. I guess that's what happens when you have so much in common. They also have three kids three and under, except they are even closer in age than ours :) We love you guys!
